FIRST ROUND LOCAL QUALIFIERS:
Competitors can qualify from Intro to Elementary.
Competitors placed 1 – 6, attaining a score of 58% or over, in both the Junior & Senior Sections, will be issued with a qualifying slip at the time or soon after qualifying. To qualify as a Junior in the 2018 Challenge the competitor must be aged 16 years or under on the 1st September 2017.
If a competitor in the first six has already qualified, the centre may pass down the relevant qualification.
Competitors must then return the slip with the relevant fee, (if not currently a member), to UK Riders.
UK Riders will issue new members with a membership card and all members with a qualification confirmation slip.
SECOND ROUND REGIONAL QUALIFIERS
Competitors must present their qualifying confirmation slip AND UK Riders membership card for their entry to be validated. Competitors can qualify from Intro to Elementary. Competitors placed 1 – 6, attaining a score of 60% or over in both the Junior & Senior sections, will be issued with a qualifying slip at the time or soon after qualifying. To qualify as a Junior in the 2018 Challenge the competitor must be aged 16 years or under on the 1st September 2017. If a competitor in the first six has already qualified, the centre may pass down the relevant qualification. Competitors must then return their slip to UK Riders within 14 days of qualifying. Competitors may enter as Regional qualifiers as they wish to qualify for the National Championships.

Entries will be listed and open on Equo Events from 1st July 2018.
Entries will close on the 31st August 2018.
Late entries will be accepted at the discretion of UK Riders depending on available times.
RACEHORSE TO DRESSAGE STAR.
There will be three classes at the 2018 National Finals solely for Ex Racehorses: Intro, Prelim & Novice.
Competitors taking part in this category are not required to attend a Regional Qualifier. This is to ensure we have enough entries to make these classes viable to run.
Competitors qualifying in the first round must then return their qualification slip with the relevant fee, (if not currently a member), to UK Riders.
UK Riders will issue new members with a membership card and all members with a qualification confirmation slip. These must be presented at the National Championships.
Please inform UK Riders on your qualification slip if you are competing on an ex racehorse.
Both members and non-members of UK Riders are eligible to compete in the 1st round qualifiers. Non-members must join UK Riders before being able to progress onto the 2nd round Regional Qualifiers.
The membership fee for UK Riders is currently £25.00 per combination for the year. The membership year begins on the 1st day of the following month in which the qualification is attained in the first round. Discounts are available for family membership and for riders wishing to enter on more than one horse/pony.
UK Riders National Championships are aimed at the unaffiliated horse and riders, however, BD Associate members are eligible to take part. Affiliated riders are may take part if competing on a young or inexperienced horse. UK Riders relies on good will and sportsmanship to ensure this rule is adhered to. If information comes to light following the National Championships, any placings gained will be withdrawn from the competitor and all awarded prizes, in whatever form, must be returned.
If a horse and rider combination qualify for the National Championships and subsequently affiliate they remain eligible to continue to the National Finals of the current year’s competition, at the level they gained qualification in before affiliating.
All dressage classes will be run in accordance with British Dressage rules.

A riding hat which conforms to PAS015 or VG1, (both must be kite marked), with a three point linkage harness, properly adjusted and fastened, must be worn always whilst mounted.
No horse or pony under 4 years of age is eligible
The judge’s decision is final. Any complaints must be put into writing and received by the 16th September 2018, with a non-returnable fee of £20. Complaints will be dealt with fairly and as promptly as possible.
Anyone entering competitions or supporters will have deemed to have
given permission to be photographed and for any such photographs
be used on social media, relevant websites, press releases etc., unless UK Riders are otherwise informed.
Additional rules may be implemented at Arena UK. Please be aware of and adhere to the rules. UK Riders reserve the right to change the rules or listed judges at any point during the Competition.
